Validité : D'après Tropicos: " illegitimate according to ICN Art. 52.1: cites Verbena triphylla L'Hér. (1785), the epithet of which ought to have been used; also, a homonym of the earlier Aloysia citriodora Paláu (1784), with which it shares a lectotype (see Taxon 41: 89. 1992)"
