Homonymie : non Hirtella guyanensis (Fritsch) Sandwith 1931!

Taxonomie : D'après Sandwith (Kew Bull., 17(2): [257-]261[-262]. 1963): "The material belongs to the genus Hirtella (Rosaceaea) and, in my opinion, can safely be identified with the very common species H. racemosa Lam. (H. americana sensu Aubl. p. 247, t. 98, non L.). But the drawing of the stamens and the description of the gynoecium will not fit, while the drawing and description of the capsule are quite impossible for Hirtella. Fortunately, the specific epithet of Tachibota is preoccupied in Hirtella by H. guyanensis (Fritsch) Sandw."

Type : "Cet arbre est nommé Umbetachibote par les Galibis. Je l'ai trouvé dans les forêts qui bordent la riviere de Sinémari, à trente lieues de son embouchure. Il est en fleur & en fruit dans le mois d'Octobre." [protologue].
