Type : Brésil, Amapá, rio Araguari, 01°55'-02°05'N 51°56-59'W, second growth, upland plant in shadow of forest, 135 m, 01/09/1961, fleurs. 35 cm high, pedicels and peduncles red, tube orange, petals yellow-orange. J.M. Pires, Wm. Rodrigues & G.C. Irvine 50632 (HT: NY00131965).
Suriname, monts Nassau, Plateau A, Line A east 1 km. from Camp I, infrequent in forest, 430-520 m, 31/12/1954, fruits. Tree 1,5 m tall. Fruit green. Inflorescence axes red. R.S. Cowan & J.C. Lindeman 39025 (PT: NY, U.1571450).
