Etymologie : "Greek potamós = river, referring to the running water, a habitat where the type species was found"

Habitat : "On wood of Platanus sp. submerged in a stream."

Holotype : "FRANCE, Ariège: Rimont, road D18, 1.5 km to the south of the village, Le Baup stream, 500 m a. s. l., on submerged wood of Platanus sp., associated with Savoryella limnetica H.S. Chang & S.Y. Hsieh and Cosmospora sp., 23 May 2008, incubated in a moist chamber until 5 June 2008, J. Fournier & M. Delpont J.F. 08139 (PRM 915719; holotype; ex type culture deposited as CBS 125414)."
