Etymologie : "From the Greek ‘‘gigas’’ = giant"

Holotype : "France, Vende´e: L’Orbrie, Sauvaget, the river Vende´e, 15 m a.s.l., 13 May 2009, on submerged wood of Fraxinus excelsior, associated with a Cosmospora sp., leg & det Jacques Fournier, J. Fournier 09098 (HOLOTYPE designated here, ILLS 60816)."
