Etymologie : "Named after Rev. Père Antoine Duss (1840–1924), collector of the type laterial and avid botanist in the Caribbean at the end of the 19th century."

Holotype : "GUADELOUPE. Bois inférieurs des Bains-Jaunes, on Inga laurina, 1898, A. Duss 1031b (NY!, holotype)."
