Etymologie : "stratosus (Latin) meaning in distinct layers, derived from stratum (Latin) layer, referring to two distinct layers of setae and conidiophores growing on the natural substrate."

Holotype : "FRANCE. ARIÈGE: Pyreneés Mts., Rimont, La Maille Brook, alt. 550 m, on decaying wood, 2 Oct 2013, M. Réblová M.R. 3791 (holotype PRA-16443). Ex-type culture CBS 138739. GenBank: 28S = MT454505; ITS = MT454491; TEF1-α = MT454681; TUB2 = MT454694."
