Taxonomie : Dacryodes decidua, D. colombiana Cuatrec., D. villosa Daly & M. C. Martínez, and a new species represented by Hurtado 576 (NY) are similar in the number of leaflet pairs, leaflet size, the narrowly acuminate leaflet apex, the number of secondary vein pairs, the spacing of the secondaries regular but increasing toward the base, the regular angle of the secondaries, the presence of two or more perpendicular epimedial tertiaries per intercostal space, the tertiary vein fabric mixed opposite-alternate percurrent, the similar leaflet abaxial surface pubescence, and the prominence of the venation adaxially. The four species can be distinguished by the characters in Table II.
