NOTES
Date de publication : in Schltr. & Hoehne, Anexos Mem. Inst. Butantan, Secc. Bot., 1(2): 39-40, t. 9, f. 1. 1921 [fide p. de titre].
Distribution : Cerrado: du Sergipe au Paraná, à l'ouest jusqu'au Tocantins et au Mato Grosso, Bolivie (GBIF; Flora do Brasil 2020; Romero-González, Harvard Pap. Bot., 4(2): [505-]515-516[-518]. 1999; Romero-González 2003; Romero-González et al., Harvard Pap. Bot., 13(1): 192. 2008; Phytotaxa, 424(2): [71-]80[-86]. 18/11/2019).
Taxonomie : Le taxon du cerrado traditionnellement traité comme Cyrtopodium parviflorum Lindl. 1843 est considéré comme une espèce indépendante par G.A. Romero-González et al. (Phytotaxa, 424(2): [71-]80[-86]. 18/11/2019): "Cyrtopodium parviflorum Lindley (1843: 672; Figure 8A–B herein) is partially sympatric with the previous species but the flowers are dark purple or maroon, and the midlobe of the labellum is bright yellow. Two sets of populations have been included in this species (Romero-González et al. 2008); those from the Venezuelan Guayana, Trinidad, the Guianas, and northern Brazil are conspecific with the type of the name and feature marcescent leaves. Many southern Brazilian and Bolivian populations have articulate foliar blades and may be regarded as a different species, for which the name Cyrtopodium falcilobum Hoehne & Schlechter (1921: 39) may be available (Figure 8 C–D). However, the type of this taxon (Hoehne 818, B destroyed, as well as the lectotype, A. Gehrt s.n, SP) were described from an area of flooded soils ("São Paulo, Butantan, in solo paludoso") and may have had marcescent leaves; for this reason we only very cautiously apply this name to the southern Brazilian populations resembling C. parviflorum that feature articulated leaves."
Type : "Cyrt[opodium]. falcilobum. Hoehne & Schlechter (n. sp.) [...] S. Paulo: Butantan, in solo paludoso. F. C. Hoehne, n.°818, flor. 30 Oct. 1917. Tab. IX, fig. I. Dentre as espécies de pseudo-bulbos curtos e inflorescência ramificada, a presente distingue-s específicamente bem pelos falciformes lobos laterais do labelo e pelo lobo terminal do mesmo largo-cuneiforme, muito obtuso, de bordos planos e não emarginado no ápice" [protologue].
