albonitens, from which, however, it is readily distinguishedd by the short, flat spikes, long bracts, and freely ciliated leaves. The bracts which follow on the plane of the minor leaves are much enlarged, but those which follow the major leaves are not much reduced. Endemic. G. S. Jenman, Demerara, October, 1897."
