Suriname, Brokopondo district, 12 km south of village Afobaka, forest along Sara Creek, top of trees, afterwards lake, 02/1965, Donselaar 2119 (NT: U-212602 [désigné par Bauer, Cactaceae Syst. Init. 17: 40. 2003]; INT: U0070249).
Bauer (2003) noted that he designated this neotype because Doweld’s neotype [Dowel, Turczaninowia 1(5): 13. 2002: Venezuela, Bolívar, Mun Piar hato el Oregano. Via Upata-El Manteco, 260 m, 05/1986, Fernandez 3035 (NT: MO-148888)] could not be found at MO and therefore had to be rejected as neotype (Korotkova et al. 2017).
