Orthographe : Christenhusz (2010, p.365) justifie l'emploie du tréma par l'étymologie de son épithète: "The pinnae of this species resemble the phyllodes of Danaë Medik. (Asparagaceae)." Selon Tropicos: "epithet is spelled with a diaeresis (not an umlaut), which is permissible according to ICN Art. 60.6."

Synonymie : Ce taxon avait été provisoirement dénommé "Danaea sp. C" par Christenhusz (2007, 2008).
