"Just as its hybrid status is uncertain, so too is its generic placement. [...] I suspect that with additional collections, this problem will not remain intractable, but until additional material can be studied, I consider ×victorhugoensis to be incertae sedis. I do not see strong evidence for its hybrid origin, or for its placement in any of the currently recognized grammitid genera at this time."
