Brésil, Pará, pr. Santarém, 09/1851, fleurs. Large tree with very hard wood. Bark smooth. I fancy we cut down a small tree of this in fruit, but I cannot make out  under what No. it was sent. It is certainly different from 828. R. Spruce 1088 (LT: K000528013 [ex hb. Benth. photo: NY Neg. 2023]; IT: B [détruit; photo: F Neg. 1213; désigné comme "holotype" R.C. Barneby & J.W. Grimes, Mem.
