Validité : D'après C.M. Taylor (2016 in Tropicos): " This name has been regarded as validly published here, because Faramea schonburgkiana was said here to be a species of Coussarea. However the genus and species name were not directly associated here as a name, which is required for valid publication; see the Melbourne Code Art. 35.2, and more explanation in its Ex. 6. Subsquently several authors cited this name [Mueller, Fl. bras. 6(5): 93, 1881; Steyerm., Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 17: 368, 1967], but these authors did not accept this name, they only cited it in synonymy, so it cannot be considered validated by them."
