D'après Wurdack (Phytologia, 21(6): [353-]366[-368]. 07/1971): "Urban (Symb. Ant[ill]., 3: 47-48. 01/03/1902, fide TL-2, 15687) noted that the Finlay collections at Paris, purportedly from "St. Thomas", were probably collected in Trinidad".
