Publié par Klotzsch comme nom nouveau dans le genre Polypompholyx, pour lequel il cite comme synonymes: "P. laciniata Benj. (partim) - Utricularia laciniata Mart. - U. longiciliata Dec. - U. pectinata Splitgerb." [i.e. P. laciniata Benj. 1847, nom. illeg. superfl. (type: Poeppig s.n., Martius 2503, Gardner 2711, Gardner 3959); U. laciniata Mart. nom. nud. in sched (basé sur Martius 2503), U. longiciliata A.DC. 1844 (type: R.H. Schomburgk I.421), U. pectinata Splitg. ex De Vries 1848, nom. illeg. superfl. (type: Schomburgk 421)]. Ainsi à sa description P. schomburgkii incluait U. longiciliata dont l'épithète légitime et prioritaire aurait dû être utilisée. En l'absence de typification à sa description, ce binôme est automatiquement typifié par le type du nom qui aurait dû être utilisé (ICN Melbourne, Art. 7.5).
