Dialium guianense occurs in forests generally below 300m elevation (usually below 100m) and is generally associated with wetlands. It occurs in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and Brazil. In Brazil it occurs in Amazonian rain forest and the Atlantic Forest, as well in transition areas between Amazonia and the Cerrado." (Falcão
