Publication was monthly; contemporary reviews are numerous and contain on the whole no serious indication of any deviation from that schedule from vol. 3 onward. The months of publication were indicated on the original covers, but since we have seen no such copy, no further details can be given." Stamens and anthers yellow. Odoriferous [presumably referring to the flower]. R.H. Schomburgk I.280 (HT: K000382384 ["Stamina perygina! ovarium liberum, biloculare. Ternstroem ? g. nov." scrips. Benth.], K000382385 [ex hb. Benth.]; IT: BM000645692, L0424693, P02285999).
D'après Sandwith (Bull. Misc. Inform. Kew, 1931: 50. 1931): "The locality "Berbice, Schomburgk, 1837," is written in Hooker's handwriting on a duplicate sheet of the type; as with so many of Robert Schomburgk's plants, no locality is specified in his manuscript notes preserved at Kew, but no. 280 occurs in a list of savannah species which were doubtless collected in Berbice."
