Statut biogéographique : D'après Croat & Delannay (2017): "Xanthosoma striolatum was described from specimens collected by Martius in Brazil: one from Japurá in Amazonas and the other from near Óbidos in Pará. Both locations lay along the Amazon River, far away from the Guianas and probably in different environments so this species is not likely to also occur in the Guianas. The authors have not found any Guianas specimen matching the type for X. striolatum and the specimens that had been determined as this species clearly belong to different species."
