Taxonomie : The narrow terms of reference of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, that permit exclusion from their consideration of anything but strictly nomenclatural issues, would in this instance render European literature references to "Chrysotoxum arcuatum" totally unusable, since authors of anything except strictly nomenclatural revisions normally fail to indicate in what sense they are applying species names.
