The Linnean Plant Name Typification Project: "Keisling (in Darwiniana 24: 444. 1982) provided a neotype for
Cereus peruvianus Mill. (1768). He did not regard this name as a new combination based on
Cactus peruvianus L. so did not typify the latter and, in fact, suggested that it should be rejected as a nomen dubium. Hunt & Taylor (
in Bradleya 10: 19. 1992), however, rejected this interpretation, and the name was formally typified by Heath."
