The protologues (nomen specificum legitimum & synonymy) of the varietal names C. aurantium var. grandis is L. (1753) and var. decumana L. (1763) are the same. In spite of not referring to the 1753 name, Linnaeus (1763) included all the 1753 elements eligible for a LT., and he thus rendered superfluity and illegitimacy to the 1763 varietal name (see the Shenzhen Code Art. 52.3).
