Statut biogéographique : En Nouvelle-Calédonie, un spécimen unique collecté en 1978, mais l'introduction reste à confirmer. Commentaire sur AntWeb : "[Eli Sarnat, 2014-12-30]  This species is otherwise confined to Mediterranean Europe. There is some possibility the species is trampy, as Emery 1869 says it was found at a port and near a railway station. However, this record from New Caledonia is dubious until confirmed".
