Remarques : Note: Ascherson & Graebner (1929) used the name Viscaria viscaria (L.) Voss, in Vilm. Blumengärtn., ed. 3, 1: 100. 1894, nom. inval., for this species. In synonymy they also list Lychnis viscosa Scop., Fl. Carniol. 1, ed. 2: 306. 1772, but L. viscosa Scop. is clearly based on Cucubalus viscosus L., Sp. Pl. 1: 414. 1753, nowadays known as Silene viscosa (L.) Pers. As the latter does not grow in Carniolia (today part of Slovenia), Scopoli must have misapplied the name for some other species, possibly V. vulgaris.
