Nouvelle combinaison : "Müller(1889) based the name Hypnum antarcticum on P. antarcticum Mitt., which is a different moss related to Isopterygiopsis pulchella. However, Müller himsel fwas not sure that Mitten’s epithet was appropriate,and he gave a thorough Latin description of H.antarcticum. Cardot (1916) included ‘‘Hypnum antarcticum C. Müll. non Mitt.’’ in the synonymy of P. georgicoantarcticum, citing a Kerguelen collection made by Rallier du Baty in 1907–1908 (in PC , cf.Bednarek-Ochyra et al. 1999)."
