Lectotype : Lectotype (Motelay & Vendryès 1883: 397; Pfeiffer 1922: 128): “La Calle, ( . . . )”, 30 Mar 1841, [Durieu] (MO 1852617 ex herb. Motelay [image!]; isolectotypes: BORD [image!], P 507734 [image!]). – The plants used by Bory to describe his new species are in Paris (P 507729–507734). Motelay and Vendryès (1883: 397), however, qualified as échantillons types” material in the “Herb.
Motelay”, from one of Durieu’s original gatherings. As part of that material was distributed to others, theirs is a first-step lectotypification. One such duplicate was sent to Eaton and, with his Isoetes herbarium, ended up in St Louis (MO). Pfeiffer (1922: 128) designated the latter specimen as “type”, which must be accepted as a second-step lectotypification
