Distribution : Humid Atlantic forest vegetation at 10–835 m in eastern Brazil, from Bahia and Minas Gerais to Saõ Paulo (Taylor & Hollowell, 2016; GBIF).

Statut biogéographique : Espèce signalée de Guyane française, sub Psychotria myriantha Müll.Arg. 1876 par C.M. Taylor en 2003 (in sched., voir à CAY), par confusion avec Palicourea sp. nov. aff. octocuspis, voir par exemple: D.Z. 5 (route Régina-Saint-Georges, bassin de l'Approuague), forêt ripicole sur sable, crique située a 1 km environ au sud de La DZ, bas de pente, en sous-bois, 04°02'N 52°01'W, 100 m, 26/11/1995, fleur.
