Distribution : Wet forest in the Andes of Venezuela and eastern Colombia, at elevations of (650–)1500–2500 m (Taylor & Hollowell, 2016; GBIF).

Statut biogéographique : Espèce signalée de Guyane française, sub Psychotria cf. amita Standl. 1930 par J.H. Kirkbride en 1990 (in sched.), par confusion avec Palicourea sp. nov. aff. octocuspis, voir: Montagne Tortue, plateau Est, 04°18'N 052°22'W, 200-450 m, downstream of crique Feuillet, swampy light forest, lateritic soil, 15/06/1988, fruit.
