Statut biogéographique : Espèce connue de Guyane française seulement de deux collectes:
(1) rte Mana-St. Laurent, placeau n°4, carreau n°17, terrain sablo-argileux, 02/02/1956, petits boutons jaune, verdâtres, Bafog 7237 (CAY163015, det. G.T. Prance, P04735612, det. G.T.Prance, 10/1978).
(2) rte Mana-St. Laurent, placeau n°4, carreau n°12, terrain sablo-argileux, 08/02/1956, petits boutons verdâtres en petites grappes sur les rameaux. Bafog 7259 (CAY163014, det. G.T. Prance, 1982, P04735611, det. G.T.Prance, 10/1978).

Type : Guyana, Dukalikuru creek (Berbice river), mixed forest on brown sand, 02/04/1938, fleurs. tree 60 ft. high, 8  in. diam., with very hard wood; calyx lobes glossy green in bud, very much overlapping, when open concave, pale green, faintly pubescent; petals waxy-white, erect; stamens varying from white at base to crimson at top.
