  • Forty-seven species of Cecidomyiidae are known from Guadeloupe: 33 phytophagous species including 14 new records ((Asphondylia cordiae Mohn, A. herculesi Mohn, A. lopezae Wunch, A. portulacae Mohn, A. ruelliae Mohn, A. stachytarpheta Barnes, A. tabernaemontana Mohn, A. waltheriae Mohn, Camptoneuromyia meridionalis Felt, Ctenodactylomyia watsoni Felt, Mycodiplosis rubida (Felt), Neolasioptera portulacae (Cook), Stenodiplosis sorghicola (Coquillett), Youngomyia podophyllae (Felt)); one is saprophagous; 13 are predatory including 7 new records (Arthrocnodax meridionalis Felt, Diadiplosis cocci Felt, D. coccidarum (Cockerell), D. multifila (Felt), D. pulvinariae (Felt), Lestodiplosis fenestra (Felt), L. grassator (Fyles)). For all the predatory species, the indication of their respective hosts is generally specified. In addition, 34 phytophagous species and 2 predatory species are identified only at generic level. A table shows the 90 species of Cecidomyiidae known currently in the Caribbean region.
